What is Lutein

Lutein is a carotenoid, a photosynthetic pigment, naturally found in vegetables (such as spinach, cabbage, broccoli, etc.), flowers, fruits and other plants. It can transfer the absorbed light energy to the special state of chlorophyll A , for it to convert light energy, and has the function of protecting chlorophyll. The pure product is a grid-shaped yellow crystal with metallic luster, unstable to light and hydrogen, insoluble in water, and easily soluble in grease and fatty solvents. It needs to be stored in a cool, dry place and sealed away from light.
