What is Osthole

Osthole is a substance extracted from the fruit of Cnidoma monnieri, an annual herbaceous plant of the Umbelliferae family. It appears as a yellow-green to white crystalline powder. It is insoluble in water and cold petroleum ether, and is easily soluble in acetone, methanol, ethanol, and chloroform. , chloroform, ethyl acetate, soluble in boiling petroleum ether, has antispasmodic, lowering blood pressure, anti-arrhythmic, enhanced immune function and broad-spectrum antibacterial effects. Clinically, it is mainly used to treat male impotence, wet and itchy scrotum, female vaginal itching with a chemical book, cold uterus and infertility, rheumatic arthralgia, scabies and eczema, and trichomonal vaginitis.
