Mogroside is extracted from Momordica grosvenori, a specialty economic plant in Guangxi, China. Its sweetness is 300 times that of sucrose and its calories are zero. It has the effects of clearing away heat, moistening the lungs, relieving coughs, and laxatives. It is effective in treating obesity, constipation, diabetes, etc. Prevention and treatment effect. Physical and chemical properties of Mogroside

Luo Han Guo contains Mogroside IV, V, and VI. Among them, mogroside V is extremely sweet, 300 times as sweet as sucrose, accounting for 1% of the whole fruit. The molecular formula is C60H102·2H2O, which is a triterpene glycoside with 5 glucose units and is hydrolyzed into 5 glucose molecules. Easily soluble in water and ethanol, it does not deteriorate in weak acids and weak alkali. Mogroside is stable to heat and will only decompose when heated to 197-201°C. It has a licorice-like aftertaste and stays for a long time.

Mogroside production process

Crush the dried Luo Han Guo, extract it with hot water or 50% ethanol, and then concentrate it to obtain the extract, which is then dried to obtain a white powder. The leachate can also be adsorbed through an adsorption column, then eluted with hot water or dilute ethanol solution, concentrated in vacuum, and dried to obtain mogroside products with higher purity.
